KT Michael was in charge of the preliminary investigation in the death of Sister Abhaya, and had closed the case saying sister Abhaya had committed suicide in 1992.

▪️A court in Kerala on Thursday framed charges against deposed bishop Franco Mulakkal in a rape case filed against him by a nun. Mulakkal allegedly raped the nun multiple times between 2014 and 2016.
The Kottayam Additional Sessions Court has charged Mulakkal under various sections of IPC including 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 377 (Unnatural Sex), 376 (c)(a) (sexual intercourse by a person in authority), 376(2)(k) (indulging in sexual intercourse by exhorting authority), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
▪️Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, 62, Catholic priest who had given a statement against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal, accused of raping a nun multiple times, has been found dead in Jalandhar under mysterious circumstances.
The priest's brother, Jose Kattuthara, told Mathrubhumi that he was suspicious about his brother’s death, and alleged that Kuriakose had been killed for giving a statement against Bishop Franco Mulakkal in the rape case.
