? What is the Difference between a common man & a Buddha? Or in fact, is there really a Difference?

Dijo Thomas says that there is indeed a difference. Not only a difference,  but there are many levels in between.

Before we go into that, it is important to understand where we stand now, how we see each other and how we evaluate the world.

   

    In the present world, for centuries, the key word is Equality. We hear equality in various context, like equality between men, equality between different class, equality between the haves & have-nots, equality between men and women, equality between the ruling class & common man etc. These are beautiful concepts, much longed by people; but seldom achieved.

It is the Basic Quest of each Human Being born, to try to attain a Higher level, than what level they are at present. Or to be clearer, to achieve a level of the highest individual of that particular society at that point of time. It is, more often, for a particular individual, a quest to achieve the highest status possible, which that particular individual thinks he can conquer.

We can call it a Quest for a Higher Level of Socio-Mental Status [QFHL-SMS].

For example, in the olden society, a bonded labourer may try to become / fantasise becoming an ordinary unbounded citizen, an ordinary citizen may try to become a chieftain, a chieftain may try to become a Governor, a Governor may try to become a Minister, the Minister may try to become / fantasise becoming a King etc.

It is, in a way, associated with the competition among the individuals of a Society. But Not fully so.

Social Dimension & Individual Dimension of QFHL-SMS

 QFHL-SMS has a Social Dimension, relative to the relation of an individual to the Society.

It has, in parallel, a purely Individual Dimension, which is related to the different Mental & Intellectual attitude / forces Playing within the individual. It means that even if an Individual is isolated in an island, with no human company at all, QFHL-SMS will still be working inside that person.

If the above denotes a Horizontal Quest for a Higher Level of Socio-Mental Status [QFHL-SMS] in a society, there was a vertical QFHL-SMS also, through History.

The difference of QFHL-SMS through Human History can be considered the Vertical of QFNHL.

In the Pre-Historic age of Mankind, QFHL-SMS will be there, but the range of it will be much less.

For example, in a nomadic Hunter-Gatherer Society of olden times, QFHL-SMS will be more about getting the desired woman [as it may depend on the Status that one have within that society] or becoming the Chieftain of that group.

Later, when the society progressed, QFHL-SMS  became more complex.

 This quest, whether it materialises or not, is always there. All throughout the History of mankind.

QFHL-SMS is still there, whether we know it or not, in each of us.

But an event in recent history, changed the Society’s understanding of QFHL-SMS.

Not that it was properly understood in any point of time in History, except a few Enlightened [yes, here I mean Enlightment as mentioned by Budda, Krishna or Osho and not in its usual linguistic form ] beings.

 Quest for Equality [QFE}.

Equality - the key word

I would say that the importance for Equality came during French Revolution, in recent History.

French Revolution & Equality

    The French Revolution was a watershed event in modern European history that began in 1789 and ended in the late 1790s. It later on went on to influence the world itself.

French citizens razed and redesigned their country’s political landscape, uprooting centuries-old institutions such as absolute monarchy and the feudal system. The upheaval was caused by widespread discontent with the French monarchy and the poor economic policies of King Louis XVI, who met his death by guillotine, as did his wife Marie Antoinette. Although it failed to achieve all of its goals and at times degenerated into a chaotic bloodbath, the French Revolution played a critical role in shaping modern nations by showing the world the power inherent in the will of the people.

Monarchs tried to stop this reaction of the aristocracy, and both rulers and the privileged classes sought allies among the non-privileged bourgeois and the peasants. Thus a 'divine' hand plays a role, a very unlikely one, of the most powerful element of the then society seeking the help of non-privileged class, to safe guard their privilege.

 The result is that, unknowingly or unconsciously the aristocracy sow the seed for a crucial turning point in the History of Mankind - which I would say is one of the most fundamental ever - for a more Equal Society. Thus came the importance of the Concept of Equality.

Later Russian Revolution was another effort to attain equality.

Thus Equality became the main focus of the Thinkers.

I am Not, for one moment, trying to suggest that Equality is unimportant. I would say that the Dictum that all are Equal before Law is a very Important Pillar of a Modern Society. [Though many a time it is not applied by letter & spirit.]

What I am suggesting is that, When at most importance was given to Equality, Much More Important value was Not Understood by the Society or Thinkers.

That Value, Much More Important than Equality, for an individual or the society; I would like to state is Quality.

The following Chart & its Explanation will answer these Questions.

The Human Quality Index describes the Different Layers or Stages present among Humankind; based on the Quality of a person.

The Nine Stages of the Society.

The following are the 9 Stages present in any Society. You have to note that the Classification such as Writers, Scientists, Philosophers  et. are for better understanding only, but is not an absolute indication.

For eg., all the persons in “Stage 4 – Scientists” will Not be Scientists. In fact 10-20% of that level will only be Scientists. The rest can be anybody with the Quality of Stage 4. Pls also note that though a Scientist, Albert Einstein is appearing 1 Level higher than Stage 4.

Similarly Rabindra Natha Tagore does not come in Stage 3 – Writers or Stage 5 – Activists but in Stage 6 – Philosophers Level, because his Quality is that of Stage 6.

Different Stages & their Tentative indication

Stage 1 – Majority of the Society

Stage  2 – High Negative Persons

Stage 3 – Writers

Oscar Wild, is/are good examples of this stage.

Stage 4 – Scientists

JC Bose, Issac newton, is/are good examples of this stage.

Stage 5 – Activists

Vinod Bhave, Albert Einstein is/are good examples of this stage.

Stage 6 – Philosophers

Rabindra Natha Tagore, Socrates, Aristotle, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam etc is/are good examples of this stage.

When I say Avatar, it should not be mistaken as related to Vishnu. Here I mean the different Avatars [Representative Form] of the Controlling force of the Universe.

Nine Levels in each Stage

Each Stage has 9 different sub-stages which are called Levels. For eg. Stage 8 will have 9 sub-stages, ie. 9 Levels inside it.

Any Happenening – Composition –  Behaviour of the Society can be Explained through         Human Quality Index.

[The Following Terms are used in the normal literary meaning & does not indicate & Stage]

Activists: They will belong to a level equal to or higher than Stage 3. [Some negative ones can be in the lower level too]

Writers: They can be in any stage. Good ones will be in Stage 3 or Higher.

Politicians: They will mostly belong to a Stage 1 or 2. 99% of Politicians will fall in these two Stages. This is the reason why people generally mistrust them.

The power of the Post held doesn’t mean that he may be in a Higher stage

For eg. Chief Minister or Governor of any country can be in Stage-2 or Stage-1. Similarly a King or President or Prime Minister of any country can be in Stage-2 or Stage-1 or Stage-3.

A Judge of a High Court or Supreme Court of any country can be in Stage-2 or Stage-1 or Stage-3.

[I mentioned the above facts to better understand it & Not to suggest that any particular individual is really so].

Thus the High Post that a person holds is Not an indication of High Stage in HQI.

Truthfulness

The Truthfulness will be least in Stage 2 & will increase progressively.  The truthfulness will be maximum in Stage 9.

Ethics, Sense of Justice etc.......

The Ethics, Sense of Justice etc will be least in Stage 2 & will increase progressively.  They will be maximum in Stage 9.

Intelligence or IQ is Not the most Important Factor of Mankind

Present day society considers intelligence as paramount. Most of the tests conducted by various institutions is to access the intelligence of a person.

The intelligence, it may surprise you, will more or less be the same in all stages. That means a person may have maximum IQ level in Stage 3, the same maximum IQ level may be found in a person in stage 6 also.

I will make it clearer. Albert Einstein is considered as one of the most intelligent person that ever lived. His contributions to Science are Legendary.

To make this point clear, I will state an example. Many persons were identified with IQ larger than Einstein. But they were not able to make even a small contribution to Science, any other field or to the Society.

If IQ was the main factor that makes a Scientist or a Genius, then of course, a person with an with IQ larger than Einstein should have made at least equal or larger contribution than him. But that is not the case.

Therefore it is clearly Not intelligence that makes a person a Genius – it is something else.

What is that X Factor?

Njanam makes the Difference

In Indian tradition, Buddha, Krishna, Osho, Vedantha Masters all refer to this, many refer to this by the name Njanam [Njha-nam].

Njanam is the higher wisdom revealed to a person by the Universal Ultimate Power. To different persons, the revealed Njanam will be different; it will be according to their level. That is the reason for the Variation in Perception; for a Single event; for different persons.

But there is Difference in Njanam received.                  It is the Difference in Njanam that really makes the  ..................  difference

What is the “Difference in Njanam”. It is “Vyekti Njanam” ?

I am terming the “Difference in Njanam” as “Vyekti Njanam” meaning  “Individual Njanam”.

Vyekti Njanam [Individual Njanam]: The way Vyekti Njanam acts is different from the way Njanam acts. To elaborate, Njanam in a stage, say for persons in Stage 4 will more or less be the same. But Vyekti Njanam for two persons in the Stage 4 will be two different knowledge. It will be mostly related to the role that they have to play in Life.

The Njanam will be least in Stage 2 & will increase progressively.  The Njanam will be maximum in Stage 9.

Stage 9.

Masters like Buddha, Krishna, Osho, Jesus Christ, Ramana Maharshi, J Krishna Moorthy, UG Krishna Moorthy etc. Belong to this stage.

This is the reason why the Masters like Buddha, Krishna, Osho, Jesus Christ, Ramana Maharshi etc. are able to say many things that other people are not able to find out.

The society also, in a way, understands that. That is the reason why people worship some of them as God.

The progress from Stage1 to Stage 9 is achieved through thousands of Lives, ie. Thousands of births & re-births.

Whether you believe in re-births or not, whether you understand re-births or not, it will really happen.
